Northland Blueberry

General Information

Northland Blueberry is a deciduous fruiting shrub.  It has great berries, to go along with some nice ornamental appeal.  It grows to a nice, moderate size overall size.  Very nice deep green, glossy foliage throughout the growing season.  Nice deep red color in the fall.  Clusters of white, bell shaped flowers in the spring.  Berries ripen to deep blue in color, typically in early July.  Wonderful, great tasting berry, perfect for fresh eating or a variety of other culinary uses.

Additional Information

Vaccinium ‘Northland’  grows to a height of 3 to 4 feet, with a similar spread.  It is recommended for USDA climate zones 4 to 7.  Northland tends to grow and produce best in full sunlight.  It does well with average amounts of moisture in well drained, slightly acidic soils.  It does quite well in northern climates, withstanding very cold temperatures.
