Overdam Feather Reed Grass
General Information
Overdam Feather Reed is an ornamental grass. It is controlled in size, reaching to 3 feet tall. It tends to grow in a largely upright fashion, slightly arching at the end of the leaves. Overdam is quite ornamental, fitting in well in a variety of landscaping areas. The long narrow leaves are variegated, with a bright green center and creamy-white edges. Seedheads emerge on stems above the foliage in the summertime. They are pinkish-green in color, maturing to tan in the fall.
Additional Information
Calamagrostis × acutiflora ‘Overdam’ grows to a height of 2 to 4 feet, with a general spread of 2 to 3 feet. It is recommended for USDA climate zones 4 to 9. Overdam can grow in full to partial sunlight conditions. It does well with average amounts of moisture in well drained soils. It is not known to have any disease or insect issues.
