Rose Verbena- Native

General Information

Rose Verbena forms a dense mat of foliage. Clusters of vivid, pink-purple flowers bloom atop the foliage late spring to summer.Flowers are aromatic.  Dark green leaves are scalloped, and coarsely textured. The trailing foliage forms an attractive ground cover.  Aggressive grower. Wonderful plant for rock gardens, borders and ground covers. Works well in containers. Also known as: rose vervain.

Additional Information

Glandularia canadensis grows best in Full Sun.  It will grow 6-12″ tall with a spread of 12-24″.  Plant in zones 5 to 8.  Arkansas Select Plant for 2001. Can be propagated by cuttings or seed. Occurs naturally in roadsides and fields in some areas of the United States. Drought tolerant. Attracts rabbits, deer and butterflies.

Care & Shipping Notes

Easy to grow in average to dry, well drained soil.  Will not tolerate wet soil. May be grown as an annual north of zone 5 where it is not winter hardy. No serious insect or disease problems. NOT AVAILABLE FOR SALE IN THESE US STATES AND TERRITORIES: AK, HI, GM, PR, VI. Also, WE NO LONGER SHIP TO CALIFORNIA due to Department of Ag restrictions on live plants.
